On The Rocks: Opportunities to Get Involved

Chances are that you’re laden down with a whole host of freebies and emails from the societies you expressed an interest in at Freshers’ Fayre. Although you may soon realise that your schedule might not allow space for all of them, you won’t want to miss out on being involved in On The Rocks Arts Festival!

On The Rocks is the largest student-run arts festival in the UK, and it happens right here in St Andrews for 10 days in April. The Festival celebrates the immense creative talent of both our student body and the local community by putting together a diverse programme showcasing it each year. From interactive operatic performances to art exhibitions, the town becomes host to a fantastic array of events which means that there truly is something which everyone can enjoy. As the Festival is organised by students, they require individuals who are passionate about the arts to get involved in a variety of subcommittee roles. Whether you have a flair for design or a passion for logistics or tech, they are looking for enthusiastic individuals to take up roles on our events, press, marketing & design, venues & tech, and community & outreach subcommittees. They are also looking for an Art On The Rocks coordinator who will be responsible for collating artwork to be displayed around town during the Festival, as well as a sponsorship officer and a logistics officer. 2018 will mark the 10th anniversary of On The Rocks, so the committee are looking to make the Festival even bigger and better than before.

If being on a subcommittee sounds like something you’d be interested in, applications are open until Wednesday 27th September and can be found on their website: ontherocksfestival.com. Why not embrace the opportunity to be a part of something great and submit an application? The committee would love to have you on board.

If you have any questions about any of the roles please do not hesitate to direct these to the On The Rocks website, Facebook page or to the committee.
