Oz Ball: Pre-Drinks Recipes

Start off your night out with these Oz themed drinks!

1. (Colour changing) Green Elixir

So have another drink of green elixir, and we'll have ourselves a little mixer

  • Crushed ice
  • ¾ of a cup spiced rum
  • ½ ounce Triple Sec/Cointreau/Grand Marnier
  • The juice of 1 orange
  • Sprite
  • Half a shot of blue curaçao

Fill the glass with crushed ice. Pour rum, then Triple Sec and orange juice and top with sprite as desired. Wave your wand and stir in the blue curaçao. Your elixir will magically turn green.

2. Yellow Brick Road

Who said: “It might be keen To build a town of green And a wonderful road of yellow brick!

  • Ice cubes
  • 1/8 cup of Vodka
  • Half a shot of lemon juice
  • 1 tsp of sugar + extra for dipping the rim of the glass
  • Lemon lime soda
  • Slices of lemon for garnish

Swipe the rim of the glass with a slice of lemon, and dip it into some sugar. Add the teaspoon of sugar, ice and lemon slices to the now garnished glass. Shake vodka and lemon juice together before pouring them into the glass and top with soda.

3. Glinda, The Good Witch of the South

You’ll be popular – Just not quite as popular as me!

  • Strawberry cotton candy
  • Champagne (or Sprite for those who don’t drink)

Cute and simple: simply place the cotton candy in the glasses, and once it is time to serve them, pour the champagne or sprite over it.

 

4. Defying Gravity

I’d sooner buy defying gravity Kiss me goodbye, I’m defying gravity And you can’t pull me down!

  • Ice cubes
  • 1/8 cup of Vodka
  • 1/8 cup of blue curaçao
  • 1/8 cup coconut rum
  • A splash of lemon lime soda
  • Splash of Grenadine

In a shaker, mix ice, vodka, blue curaçao, coconut rum and soda and stir or shake gently. Pour into the glass and top with Grenadine.
