A new semester has just kicked off and don’t worry, it’s not all work and no play just yet. And what better way to have some fun before the hard studying starts than RAG Week? A full 9 days of exciting events are about to start on February 1st and it’s all for charity. Owl Eyes brings you the guide for this year’s RAG Week.
To start RAG 2014, UNItrash – the Uni clubbing branch of Ministry of Sound – is coming up to St. Andrews for the biggest student club night in the country.
Ceilidh – 2nd February
Traditional Scottish dancing, fun and loads of treats and goodies.
Comedy Night – 3rd February
The special RAG comedy show, hosted by Leon O’Rourke and featuring improv comedy by Blind Mirth, sketches by the St Andrews Revue and stand up by some of St. Andrews finest comedians.
Mr. St Andrews – 4th February
The best men of St. Andrews battle it out in an over-the-top night of debauchery and indulgent revelry. Come along to see their seduction skills, outstanding wit, or prowess on the dance floor as well as the exciting surprises and prizes to be won.
Sinners Sport for RAG – 5th February
Get your lycra, short shorts, leg warmers, and sweatbands ready for RAG Week’s Sinner Sports, that promises to be bigger, brighter and bolder than ever!
St Andrews Got Talent – 6th February
Witness the plethora of talents St. Andrews’ students have to offer. The night includes special guests and amazing prizes. A lot of laughs are in store during this battle of talents.
Disney Bop – 7th February
This special edition of our weekly Bop will take its guest to a magical under-the-sea Disney world filled with dancing, nostalgic tunes, face-painting, flying balloons and prizes for costumes.
Catwalk – 8th February
One of RAG’s most anticipated events, Catwalk 2014 will showcase the freshest faces of St. Andrews wearing vibrant colours and prints, in tune with this year’s “Life in Print” theme.
Fine Food Fayre – 9th February
For a dose of flavour and health, the Fine Food Fayre promises exclusive discounts on produce for visitors, cooking demonstrations from Michelin star and local chefs, a luxury raffle, and many free goodies.
Other events include Dragwalk, presented by LGBT, the Design Team Workshop, RockSoc for RAG, the RAG Week Debate, and the Music Society Concert. The Barron Theatre will host a new Mermaids play, Wolf Whistle between 7th-9th February and a Life Drawing Workshop on 4th February.
