Making Bellies Happy

Do you have a food blog? You probably do, since they’re everywhere. Excuse the bitterness, I actually love food blogs and I’m just jealous that I haven’t come up with an original one with a witty name. Maria Sisci, however, a second year studying economics, has. Happy Belly is a blog with a simple goal: making people feel good through delicious, diverse and accessible recipes. The selection is amazing – on a recent peruse of the website I found recipes for raw brownies, Moroccan roasted chicken and homemade Nutella. On top of this amazing contribution to the world, the blog is clearly laid out with great pictures, informative instructions and interesting categories like ‘Finger Food and Snacks’, ‘Bread’, and ‘How To’s’.  In a short interview with Maria, I got the story behind the inspiration and goals of Happy Belly…

Letters of Note: A Dying Art

The modern day has sadly resulted in letter writing becoming a dying art. Whilst the postman may still have a full sack of printed bills and formal communication, it becomes rare that when we hear the thump of the post through the letterbox in the morning, we are greeted with hand-written thoughts and personalised messages. Whether these are the romantic thoughts of long-distance lovers, words of condolence or simply the scribbles of a friend, there is something personal about that unique scrawl; its tangibility makes it all the more heartwarming than Times New Roman font, printed on pristine white factory paper.
