Getting into the holiday spirit, this year I decided to make my own floral christmas decoration using eucalyptus. Eucalyptus is becoming my new favorite interior decorating plant. It has a beautiful matte green color, it’s versatile, and best of all, it smells heavenly.
All you need for this quick DIY table decoration is:
- A ring to shape the wreath (I got mine cheap at an arts and crafts store)
- Floral wire
- Wire cutters
- Assorted candles and pine cones
Making the wreath is a relatively simple process. Pick out a strand of eucalyptus and tie the end, middle and top of the eucalyptus to the ring with floral wire. Top tip, conceal the wire behind the eucalyptus leaves. Keep adding strands around the ring until the ring is completely hidden from view. At this point, you can use the floral wire to make a wreath used for hanging.
The final step for a simple table decoration is to lay the wreath down and decorate as you wish with candles, pine cones, glitter, flowers, etc. Depending on how big the wreath is, it can make a nice centerpiece for a dinner table or as a smaller decoration around the house.
Merry Christmas from the Owl Eyes Team!
